About the room
🌿 Cozy Room for Rent Near Mt. Tabor 🌿
📍 SE Portland | $675/month + utilities | September 1st move-in (August flexibility possible)
Hi everyone! We’re looking for someone who wants more than just a room to rent—someone who’s looking for a place to settle in and call home.
We have an upstairs bedroom opening up in our cozy duplex near Mt. Tabor and are hoping to find someone who enjoys a quieter home, values shared responsibility, and wants to help create a space that’s comfortable, welcoming, and cared for.
The room is private and unfurnished with a west-facing window on the quieter side of the house. You’ll share a bathroom with one other person, and have access to the shared living room, basement, and limited garage storage if needed.
We’re about a mile from Mt. Tabor and close to WinCo, Fred Meyer, Fubonn, coffee shops, restaurants, and public transit.
We also share the house with two indoor cats.
🐾 Honey Lavender is convinced every visitor came over just to see her. 🐾 Spirit Gypsy prefers to observe everyone from a safe distance before deciding if you’re worthy of his friendship.
Unfortunately, we’re already at pet capacity and aren’t able to welcome additional animals into the household.
Life around here…
We’re all pretty independent, but friendly. Sometimes we’ll chat in the kitchen or catch up after work and other times everyone is off doing their own thing. It’s not a party house, but it’s also not one where everyone disappears behind a closed door all the time. We all do our part to take care of the house. It makes a big difference when everyone contributes, and it’s something we really value.
You’ll probably fit in well if you…
• enjoy having a peaceful place to come home to • clean up after yourself and contribute to the weekly chore cleaning of shared spaces • like having both community and your own space • appreciate living in a queer-friendly, femme-centered household • are looking for a home rather than just a room to rent
A few practical things… • Rent is $675/month • Security deposit is $675. • Utilities are split three ways (electric, gas, water, and internet). • We’re looking for someone who works outside the home, since our shared spaces aren’t set up for remote work. • No couples, please.
Interested?
Send me a message and tell us a little about yourself! We’d love to know: • Name, age, and pronouns • What you do for work or school + your typical schedule • When you’re hoping to move • Your experience living with roommates • Guest/partner habits • What you’re looking for in a home Looking forward to hearing from you! 🌿
About the roomies
I’m Tida (they/them, 33). I work full-time supporting youth experiencing housing instability, teaching them life skills, and working on the youth community garden I built last year. Outside of work I’m usually tending to my ever-growing plant collection (currently around 125+ 😅), gardening, reading, writing, painting, cooking vegetarian meals, hiking, or getting pulled into whatever creative project has my attention that week.
Every now and then I’ll host a low-key plant repotting night, art night, shared meal, or meditation gathering in the basement with friends. I love building community, but home is also where I recharge, so I really appreciate having a space that feels calm and easy to come back to after work.
Truely (she/her, 30) works in the service industry. She’s creative, kind, easygoing, and enjoys painting, listening to records, reading, gaming, and spending time with friends.
