Some places grow on you slowly. This one tends to click straight away. The room is entirely self-contained private bathroom, no shared entry points into your routine, just your space doing exactly what it should. The neighborhood is the quiet, unpretentious sort; friendly residents, unhurried mornings, nothing that demands your attention. Malls and public transport are close enough to stop being something you think about. That kind of effortless convenience is rarer than it sounds.

Between the two of us a coroner’s investigator and a university librarian this house sees a fair amount of quiet concentration and not much else. We each have our own room, our own schedule, and a mutual appreciation for coming home to somewhere that feels genuinely settled. The space stays tidy because we both care about it, not because anyone’s keeping score. A third person who lives the same way would fit in here without any adjustment at all.
