I’m looking for a safe, affordable, and relatively quiet spot for me and my dog, Ginger. I have been working from home as a mask maker and teaching dance classes through Zoom, since lockdowns began. (Before the pandemic, my main gig was working as a Licensed Massage Therapist/art model/dance teacher.) I’ve been in New Haven for a little over 2 years and I’m looking to move closer to where my boyfriend lives (Springfield, MA), and takes care of his elderly father. My current landlord is the kind that fixes/updates nothing, the house isn’t insulated, the windows leak, and my current roommate is an alcoholic. (Help!😅) Ginger is a very sweet, 10-yr-old mutt who is house trained, quiet(except for when the doorbell rings), well behaved, and loves other animals. She has lived with other dogs, cats, ferrets, and guinea pigs. She weighs 50lbs and has short hair. I would love to find a place with utilities included for 600/month. Month-to-month lease would be great. For 850/month I can stay here with my do-nothing slum landlord. 😐 I cook the majority of my meals. The only ocassional overnight guest I have is my boyfriend. Doesn’t happen often because he doesn’t like leaving dad alone overnight. Because of my dance teaching and being a musician, I’d have to live with folks who don’t mind hearing some music, singing, and the practicing of percussive instruments. (Not daily. I’m not holding drum circles in my room, I assure you. And I’m classically trained so my singing shouldn’t offend the ears. 😉) Bonus points if there is a garden or other outdoor space for potted plants. One of my passions is gardening using permculture-esque principles. I have a small hugelkultur perennial herb/flower garden going now and would love to be able to take some of my plants (in pots) with me. If you’re looking for perennial herbs for your garden, I’m happy to share rooted splits from mine. Making this profile in the hopes of escaping the abyss of housing ad scams I’ve encountered so far.
