Description

(The quick stuff: I am looking for my own room, with my own bathroom. I have one dog and a cat. The dog is kinda a clumsy goof who might steal an unattended loaf of bread off the couch, and is definitely a fan of sitting on the couch. The cat is invisible.)

OKAY NOW THE FUN STUFF: I am a working professional at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and an ER veterinary clinic. Because my hours can vary so much, I value respectful, open communication between roommates about “quiet time”, although I absolutely love having friends over for game nights once the apocalypse is (I draw a mean stick figure in Cranium), movie marathons (Lord of the Rings, anyone?), and D&D sessions (yup…big nerd). I am also a big theater geek! I act and sing locally, and host podcasts, so there may be times where you hear some warbling or recording coming from the room next to yours. Hopefully, it’s decent warbling but I always appreciate roommates who respect my passions, as I will respect theirs. If you sing, let’s duet!

I work hard to live a sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle, meaning I limit plastic use as much as possible, compost what I can, eat local, and try to be as “waste-free” as possible. So don’t be surprised if you see a LOT of reusable bags, succulents, reusable glassware, and fair trade coffees.

As a household member, I try hard to keep the common areas clean and am okay with my fair share of chores. A clean kitchen I can cook in is a big deal for me.

M’dog: Roan is a 90 lb German Shepherd Dog (the scientific name is Goofus Maximus). He’s a clumsy dork who likes to sit on couches and shed (not long hair, but still enough that you can’t miss it, and he is a total counter surfer. He will bark at strangers outside the house, so be prepped for that, but will stop once you come over to the window and look out together to prove it’s not an axe murderer. As a single female, I value the early warning system he offers. He is OK with other dogs, especially with little dogs (he will get down on their level, it’s adorable). With bigger dogs, he does better with dogs that stand their ground and don’t get too submissive. He LOVES LOVES LOVES to play - his favorite game is tug of war with other doggos and he’ll tug for literally hours with another dog. He does have a prey drive, so he will chase cats if they run, but only if they run, and not to catch, only to chase. If they are chill with him, and just “whatever doggo”, he will sit right next to them no problem. However, if you have a super flighty cat, we would not be a good match. If you have a swimming pool, he will definitely go swimming with you. Because he likes to chase, a small fence around the yard won’t work - he will vault 6 ft over it to chase a squirrel. Tall fences are best. =]

He will go wherever I go, and if I’m not home, he will stay in my room. He will not have free access to the house unless I am home, and even then, he will be closely monitored.

We are super active, and go on hikes allll the time. If you have a dog, I’ll gladly walk your dog with us. I’ll let them all out for potty breaks. I’ll share dooty duty. And I come with free, veterinary consults. =D

I also have a cat, Octavia, who is essentially invisible. Seriously. You won’t see her.

That about sums it up! OH! And I don’t mind living co-ed.

tl; dr: I am an eco-friendly, theater happy, common area neat freak nerd with a doggo that would do great with dogs that aren’t submissive and chill cats that don’t run.
