Description
Hi there! I’ve just accepted a postdoctoral research position in Boston, and I’ll be moving in May 2020. I’ll be bringing my sidekick, Chief (dog), with me. He’s about 6 pounds and half the size of your regular domestic house cat. He is very well behaved, quiet, and super sweet. When I am not home, he happily just hangs out in my room and might greet you when you come home or continue his nap; you never know with Chief. I’m looking for a room in the Coolidge Corner area (preferred), although I’d also consider Brighton. It would be a lot easier for me to move into a furnished space, but I would be open to furnished or unfurnished rooms. Probably not surprisingly, I’d like to be close to the T. Ideally, by finding a shared apartment, we might enjoy some nice amenities, like in-unit laundry and a dishwasher, but they aren’t deal breakers. My ideal roommate is female and in her 30s, but I’d also be open to a working professional or graduate student in their late 20s. I like to get to know my roommates, while also respecting each other’s privacy. I’m probably 70% introvert and 30% extravert, but people never believe me when I say that (they think I am more extraverted–years of practice!). My biggest hobby is reading (lots of news and non-fiction lately), although I also enjoy video games (favorite: The Last of Us), yoga, hiking, and the occasional night on the town. I am moving from AZ and I’m looking forward to trying snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, ice wall climbing, and lots of other New England activities. I tend to treat my home like a sanctuary where I can decompress, e.g., pretty quiet, private, peaceful, etc. I’ll need to turn in for the night around 9 or so on weeknights and would like my roommate to be considerate of that, but I don’t mind if you want to stay up! I do my dishes daily and clean once a week (usually on weekends). I am totally down to have a cleaning plan with my roomie. Thanks for taking the time to read this! I’m happy to answer any other questions you might have. Happy hunting!
