Mateo

My name is Mateo. I’m 23 years old, transmasc and Two Spirit, and use any pronouns. I currently work as a music director for children’s theater and in orchestral management. I went to school for music composition before transferring to UW and I recently finished my undergrad degree in the Comparative History of Ideas, which explores the cross sections of history, sociology, and philosophy. I’m also a poet and writer. I was Seattle Youth Poet Laureate and currently serve as the Poet Laureate of Auburn. Last year I got an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship and my poetry has been published in local anthologies and some magazines here and there.

I don’t drink or smoke. I do like to paint, write, and play the French horn occasionally, and I would like to make sure that doesn’t bother anyone. It’d be fun to have a community feel, but I’m also down if we do our own separate things. Just looking for a fun, chill vibe.
