I am a Technical Program Manager with Amazon (meaning a workaholic nerd ensconced in the hustle/grind culture of late stage capitalism). I was grandfathered in as a remote employee during COVID but am finally being asked to relocate and return to the office. I’m single, no pets. Looking to take advantage of everything NYC has to offer and push myself outside of my comfort zone to socialize more and get involved in everything the city has to offer. Would be great if I found a roommate situation to support that; although certainly not a requirement. I’m also actively looking to escape the rat race at some point sooner than later, hence viewing this NYC move as semi-temporary and not wanting to formally move and put down roots. Perhaps that’ll change and I’ll fall in love with the city, but current plan would be not to exceed one year and maybe even shorter than that if I can find a good opportunity sooner.
