Description
A little about me: I’m pretty laid-back, respectful, and easy to get along with. I currently work full-time as a Direct Support Worker, where I assist individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health conditions by supporting their daily needs, promoting independence, and helping create a safe, comfortable environment. I’m looking for a roommate situation primarily to help reduce living costs and make finishing school more manageable while I continue working toward my goals.
I enjoy having a peaceful place to come home to and really value keeping a clean, comfortable, and drama-free living environment—a home where everyone can unwind, recharge, and leave the stress of the day at the door. I’m someone who naturally respects other people’s space, privacy, and routines, and I appreciate the same in return.
I’m perfectly happy doing my own thing, but I also enjoy the occasional conversation, sharing a meal, or laughing about something ridiculous if it happens naturally. I completely understand that everyone needs time to decompress after a stressful day, so there’s never any pressure to socialize.
I love to cook, so there’s a good chance I’ll occasionally offer you dinner or leftovers that I can never finish on my own because I still haven’t figured out how to cook for just one person. Honestly, I could probably afford to live comfortably without feeling the need to split costs with a roommate if I ever mastered the art of budgeting, planning, and prepping meals, along with proper portion control 😅
I was raised by my grandparents, who were definitely old-school and ran a fairly strict program in their household, especially when it came to chores and yard work. There was always something that could be done, and it better be done the right way. Procrastination was not tolerated, and neither was doing anything “half-assed,” as my grandmother loves to say. 😂
They are now in their 70s, and it is still very rare to see them go to bed with a single dish left in the sink. I prefer to live with someone who operates in the same fashion and absolutely do not mind living with someone who has very high expectations for what they consider clean or tidy, especially in shared living spaces.
I learned to practice manners, respect, and common courtesy from a young age, and I feel that my upbringing has also made me very comfortable around people of different generations. I would be completely open to living with a roommate who is much older than me. I appreciate the perspective, life experience, and stability that can come from sharing a home with someone in a different stage of life.
I believe good communication goes a long way. I’m easy to talk to, appreciate honesty, and prefer addressing things respectfully rather than letting little issues turn into bigger ones.
Overall, I’m simply looking for a peaceful place to call home with someone who values kindness, mutual respect, and a positive living environment. If you’re looking for a clean, responsible, considerate roommate who pays their bills, respects boundaries, and genuinely takes care of the space they live in, I think we’d get along really well.
