Hello, I am a 40 year old woman in the Burlington area searching for a room for rent. I can afford between $650- $670 per month with all utilities included. When I return to work I will be able to afford more. I can not afford a deposit at this time unless a social program in the community can assist with it.

I do not have a high credit score due to past medical bills. I have no other debt. Most of the bills have fallen off my record. I am working to build my credit score though.

I have a fixed income through SSI. I have no history of addiction and I have a clean criminal record. I am reliable and consistent. I am mature and communicative when required.

I am enrolled in HireAbility, formerly known as The Department of Rehabilitation. I am working with them to formulate a plan for me to return to work or a training program to increase my chances at obtaining employment that pays a living wage. When I re-enter the workforce it will begin as part-time only. Eventually, I will resume full-time employment when ready.

I am involved with community organizations that pertain to my hobbies. On occasion I volunteer when it is convenient for me and an opportunity presents itself. I enjoy attending local events in the community. I go to the gym sometimes. I enjoy anything related to the Arts.

I know the amount I can afford isn’t ideal, so I may be best for someone who has a spare room and wants the extra income not necessarily needs it. Possibly, someone with an elderly family member who has an extra room that you would feel better if they weren’t living alone in case of an emergency or to provide occasional companionship. I don’t need much as I live alone with few belongings following a lifestyle of simplicity.
