I am a doctoral student, starting my 2nd year in a PhD economics, my wife has a degree in environmental engineering, but is a stay-at-home wife taking care of our 3 children: one is about 12; 1 is 3 yr and the baby is 3 mo since her visa status does not allow her to work; We are both from Vietnam. I am a teaching assistant at UMKC and that pays me 1790 per month. So the most I can afford is about $1000.
