My husband and I are looking for a room to rent or a team-up situation.

Our personalities are non-confrontational. Most things are easy to let go.

That said, I highly value communication and I hope to create a loving situation where everyone feels safe and comfortable expressing if something is bothering them so it can be corrected before anyone feels like they’re stuck in a living situation where they don’t feel seen or heard.

We tend to keep to ourselves but love to be social if we live with people who enjoy sharing a meal, playing games, or creative hobbies.

We have a medium sized 5 year old dog and a tiny 6 month old cat. Both are fixed, mellow, and house trained. My dog is very low energy but the cat definitely gets her little zoomies.

I’m very diligent about not letting the house get pet odors, so I’m good with steam cleaning carpets and keeping them in my room unless I’m out in shared areas with them.

I can keep my dog off furniture but my cat is a little harder to wrangle. She has damaged some carpet in the past from scratching at the door but that was before she was fixed.

That said, I’m happy to pay for repairs if that ever happens again. I’m also okay putting down a deposit in case that’s a worry.

My husband works a ton of hours. I do too but I work from home. So I cook, and clean, and am willing to make an occasional shared meal. I always leave common areas cleaner than I find them and I don’t mind helping out with communal messes occasionally while I’m at it.

Chris and I have been married for 23 years, so we’re easy-going. No fighting, yelling, substance abuse, or general relationship drama.

We don’t smoke weed but don’t mind if you do as long as we’re not living in a cloud of smoke.

Our adult daughter lives on her own but she and her girlfriend might visit for dinner once a month or so. So an lgbtq+ friendly home is a must.

I also have unofficially adopted adult kids who i like to see when they have time. I’ve known them since they were little and can vouch for them being kind and honest.

They’re black and nonbinary, so if that’s an issue I’d rather know up front because I want them to be safe and welcome for a meal here and there as well.

Chris and I share one vehicle so we would need one place to park. Our car isn’t fancy but it’s reliable so it won’t ever be broken down, sitting in the way.

We’ve always had roommates or rented rooms to people. It’s just easier in this economy. But we have the interpersonal skills to maintain a healthy shared living arrangement.

We own a single fire-arm for home safety that stays in a lockbox. I fully understand anyone not wanting one in the house so I want to be honest and upfront.

Neither Chris or I are religious but don’t mind if you are. We lean atheist with a sprinkle of agnostic (if that matters).

I own books on a lot of non-conventional spiritual theologies, so if that creeps you out I can keep them in storage.

We both grew up in the same high-control religion so we’re not interested in getting converted, but I’m happy to listen and be supportive if you enjoy discussing your beliefs without judgement.

My hobbies and job are quiet. My main job is ghostwriting novels. I also do editing and other publishing related work along with some artwork.

I also hope to narrate audiobooks if I can ever get a little recording space set up in my room.

My husband is a gamer but he does it with headphones in our room, so you won’t hear any battle noises—and he’s not one of those gamers who yells when he dies. Lol.

We sometimes like to do tabletop games like D&D but we go to the Glass Die or some other game shop if our friends can’t host.

I also like taking walks to look for interesting rocks, sticks, feathers etc to use for my art. So if you’d ever like to join me, you’d be welcome.
