Hi there. I currently live in Austin, Texas and have been planning to move to the NW for a little while now. My lease here is coming up at the end of August and figured now is my chance. I don’t have a job in Portland just as of yet, but I’ve been the lead baker of a small gourmet coffee shop in Austin for several years now and will probably look into something similar to that line of work, but from what I’m seeing on Indeed, there’s an excellent selection of potential jobs that I would love to be doing . Better than Austin, anyway. If you’re not a tech bro or want to work fast food, there’s really not too much of an option here anymore. Gentrification kinda sucks, guys. Anyway…. as I said, I’ve been planning this for a while so have been minimizing what I own (which I consider myself a bit of a minimalist anyway), and saving up. I’m well off enough that finding work for a while won’t even be an issue, but I’m not that kind of guy that likes sitting around day after day. Plus, work is always a good place to meet new people (for most jobs). Considering I don’t know anyone there, I won’t be making any new friends just sitting on my ass hiding in a room all day. So, yeah… I get that the initial verified income will be an issue for many options since I don’t work there yet, but if you’re the property owner, I’m willing to work out a payment up front for x amount of time if need be. Pretty fun guy to be around. I like making people laugh and never miss a chance for a bad pun. Not a drinker, but not completely opposed to a drink once in a blue moon (that was not an intentional pun-I swear…they just happen). I guess my overall goal here is to just find a homebase of operations. Get a job or two. Go hiking/camping/urban exploring in my down time. I dunno. Just vibe and coalesce the vapors of human existence into a viable and meaningful comprehension, y’know? I’m clean. I’m quiet. I’m drama free. I’m financially responsible. Looking for someone with space that’s willing to put up with someone like that.
