Hey there, I am looking for a place to live for the coming fall semester from September 1st until around mid/end December, as I will be spending this time as a visiting research fellow at the Department of German Studies at Brown University. A furnished room for sublet in a shared flat with like minded people would be perfect for me, but I am also happy about any other option. A little bit about myself: My name is Thomas (he/him), I am 32 years old and am currently doing a PhD on Walter Benjamin in German Studies at the University of Leipzig in Germany. I would describe myself as calm and relaxed but also very open-minded and social, and I am very much looking forward to making new friends during my time in Providence. I will proabably be spending a fair amount of my time on campus and in the library to do research for my PhD. But I am also eager to experience as much local US culture during my stay as possible. During my first time in the US, which brought me to New York and Princeton, I fell in love with having breakfast in small diners or delis, and I am looking forward to repeating this experience in Providence. I am a great fan of all types of music and enjoy going to concerts and gigs. I have already secured a ticket for a Geese concert in New York in Ocotber, but hope to see more bands and artists in Providence or Boston. Even though I am not too keen on sports, I am also very much looking forward to attending some university sports events and watching baseball, football, or basketball live. Lastly, I hope to make the most of my visit to the US by traveling and seeing as much of the East Coast as possible during my free time.
