Looking for a short-term rental with possible extension

Hello!

I am Ayse (Aisha), I am moving to NYC on a job hunt, and I need a temporary place to stay. I am looking for anything starting July 15 or Aug 1, initially for 3-5 months, with potential extension if I can land on a job.

About me: 33yo female finishing up her anthropology PhD at Brown U. I lived in Istanbul before moving to Providence RI for grad school. Hoping to find a job in arts and culture, education, tech, or creative industries. I am friendly and considerate of personal boundaries at home.

I do have a cat (Nora); she is a rescue and has traveled to Italy, Turkey, and the US with me. She is super sweet and gets along with other humans and animals. In fact, we would be happy to move into an apartment with other pets. I’d also gladly petsit for you if you ever need.

My budget is around $1600 per month. Bonus if you have a room with its own bathroom (mainly for Nora). Happy to provide references.
