Why I Would Be a Great Roommate… Hello, my name is Christopher, and I am currently looking for a safe and stable place to call home for myself and my emotional support dog, Beaux. Beaux is a sweet, friendly 3-year-old Goldendoodle who is truly family to me and has been my constant source of comfort and support through some very difficult times. Over the past two months, I have experienced homelessness after making the difficult decision to leave my brother’s home due to long-standing personal conflicts that had become emotionally unhealthy and unsafe for me. Choosing my peace of mind and personal well-being over a toxic living situation was not easy, but it was necessary. Unfortunately, this happened during one of the most challenging periods of my life. I have been living with HIV since 2014. While I have remained undetectable and healthy for over a decade thanks to consistent medical care, my immune system has been permanently impacted, and I am considered disabled. At the same time, I haven’t been able to work full time due to this and also the lack of people I can entrust my dog Beaux while I’m working to regain stability in my life. I just started working again just this weekend and just as my luck runs out, I was informed that the temporary housing I was fortunate to have been provided will come soon to an end and this means, I would have to find another place to live and have to figure something out on my own. With very limited time and resources I am facing yet another challenge and I am hopeful that there is someone out there that understands what I’m going through and would be kind enough to empathize and open their home to me even temporarily to help me get back on my feet again. Despite these challenges, I remain a positive, respectful, and compassionate person. Friends and people who know me often describe me as kind, considerate, easygoing, polite, dependable, and someone with a good sense of humor. Above all, I consider myself an empath—someone who genuinely cares about others, respects personal boundaries, and strives to create a peaceful and harmonious living environment. As a roommate, I am clean, respectful of shared spaces, quiet, and drama-free. I value open communication, mutual respect, and treating a home as a sanctuary where everyone feels safe and comfortable. Beaux shares my gentle nature and is well-behaved, affectionate, and gets along well with people. I am simply looking for an opportunity to rebuild my life, and I would be grateful to share a home with someone who values kindness, respect, and understanding.
