Description
I HAVE A PET*** Please don’t contact me unless you allow pets.
I am a QTBIPOC and a full-time student commuting to Evergreen State. I am a nature nerd, an artist, a gardener, and fairly social. I’d consider myself an extravert, but I primarily just enjoy sitting in the same room as people (I’m not a partier). I’ve worked as a professional baker and more recently in agriculture and conservation, which is what I am going to school for.
I value community, transparency, and collaborative problem solving. I have AuDHD and I’m chronically ill, but I like being active when my body permits. I enjoy tidepooling, weightlifting, going on walks, hammocking, and hopefully in the future hiking. I also like watching a lot of youtube, crafting, gardening, painting, and trying to learn some other diy situation when I have the space. I’m clean, quiet, and handy when/if needed.
Pros about living with me: I am very accommodating and always happy to help. I will get the spider out of the house. I’ve never missed a payment on rent or utilities. I have an 8 drawer Costco freezer I’d be happy to share. I will happily grow food for the house (or teach you if you’re interested!) I also would be open to communal meals if that’s your thing. I used to work professionally as a baker and cook.
Possible cons about living with me: I like the big light, especially in lieu of no natural lighting. I need several alarms to wake up. My cat has anxiety and needs a pretty long introduction period, but it’s not hard to do!
What I’m looking for: Due to health reasons & my cat I’m looking for a roommate(s) who is COVID-safe and does not own a cat (dogs are fine–probably other pets as well, but my cat hates cats.)
For a potential roommate, I am seeking someone who would also be collaborative, proactive and interested in keeping the home clean and having monthly house meetings that we customize for what works for us as a team. I want us to feel like we both can take up space and don’t feel relegated to a bedroom. If they have a pet, I’d be happy to help walk or feed them if needed and to be okay with my cat. I just need someone reliable and open-minded. I am open to it being more than 1 roommate. I’d feel most comfortable with other QTBIPOC but it’s not exclusive to that. Some other qualities I am hoping to find:
- equity-based bill sharing based on income and room size
- Some access to natural lighting
- all basic appliances,
- in or around downtown. I’ve been checking around Stadium mostly, but I just want more walkability so I can cut back on gas with commuting to Evergreen if I can help it (this can be negotiable honestly cause housing is housing!)
My budget for either of these is estimated at $800, higher if it’s solo (not including utilities + other payments).
I can do a background check and provide references if needed!
