Kaiden, Ray & Silas

Hi! We’re a couple (Kaiden 39yo, Ray 28yo) and our friend (Silas 20yo) who are looking to find one more person to split a 3 bedroom apartment in Hartford. We have 3 cats between us (2 are ESAs), so ideally our 4th roommate will like pets but won’t be bringing any. One more cat could be managed if we’re all good with lots of cats lol! Below is the post Kaiden and Ray put out initially looking for roommates - we’ve now teamed up with Silas and would like to add one more person!

Roommate(s) wanted! Kaiden and Ray are a queer couple wanting to find one or more roommates for co-living and sharing housing costs. We have multiple cats, love gardening and dragons and video games, and would love for a roommate to be someone who might eventually become part of our chosen family. We see home as a place where we all practice mutual care for each other, and as a sanctuary where we don’t have to mask or be less than our whole selves. (And also occasionally as a place to host get-togethers, to nourish our chosen family and community.) We are somewhat COVID cautious but it’s complicated. We’re not likely to be a good match for someone who needs zero-COVID practices, but we do generally mask in public and rarely go out to eat. Full disclosure: Kya’s job runs out June 30th and they’re likely going to go on a combination of disability and freelance work after that. We have good savings ($15k) and Ray has a solid job, so we anticipate the likelihood of not being able to pay rent is pretty low. That said, there is some precarity there that we want to be upfront about.

Silas says: A little about me! I have a cat of my own who is very dear to me!! He is very sweet and has lived with cats before. I enjoy gaming and I have a gaming pc of my own that I spend my free time on. I like watching shows/movies, but don’t really know many, so I can get into basically anything if you show me! I love being introduced to new activities, shows or not lol. I like to draw and art was a huge passion of mine for a while, but I’m trying to find my spark again as of late. I love writing, characters, story building!! Again something I haven’t been super into as of late, but I miss my creative spark! I’m a huge foodie, love talking about my favorite foods!! I do smoke 🍃 for fun/symptom management but I’ll never be bothered if it’s an outside only thing. I’m a little awkward and I don’t always know everything, but direct and honest communication is what I need to work best! I am definitely someone who hides in their shell for a while, but if I’m given a safe place to open up and be judgement free and make mistakes without being scolded, then I will eventually bloom into my weird, kinda spunky self.
