Help! The manosphere stole my ex and he doesn’t even know it.

I am a primarily WFH F academic consultant and developmental editor with two bonded adult F rescue cats and an impressive library. Quiet and not interested in large parties, smoking / drugs / uncontrolled drinking but 420- adjacent, particularly when smoke stays outside. I love to cook and share with a few friends, stream movies and European crime TV, and explore quirky (cheap!) Chicago restaurants, bars, and theater.

Looking for a long-term housing situation that feels more like a shared home than a room in someone else’s apartment. Minimum 12-month availability, long-term arrangement preferred if we’re a good fit. Hope to rent either a bedroom large enough to hold my queen bed and WFH setup (beautiful wooden table, books, and misc. office equipment), 12’x12’ minimum I would think, but open to checking out all possibilities, OR 2 rooms of any size, one for bedroom, one for office. Bonus points if apartment still needs some furnishing (I have some) and has a blank wall where I can put approximately 12’-15’ of full, freestanding, bookshelves, sparing me the need to put them in storage.

Totally open to unconventional spatial arrangements–lofts, attics, coach houses, garden apartments, 2 professional roommates splitting a 4-bd house, etc. Let me know what you’ve got and I’ll try to make it work. My favorite neighborhoods are Pilsen, Albany Park, Avondale, Humboldt Park, Bridgeport, Ravenswood, Edgewater, Uptown, Oak Park, but will consider living anywhere within a 10-minute walk to an L-station, a couple of independent coffee shops, and a taqueria. Strong preference for a dishwasher, and in-unit laundry is not necessary but aways appreciated.

Slight preference for F or LGBTQ+ roommates but will consider everyone indivdually. Trumpies, MAGA, or secret manosphere converts–don’t waste your time.
