My name is Brendan. I’m sure you are probably looking for a minimum 6-month or one year commitment, but please do reach out in case you might be willing to accept me for 1-2 months while you continue to look for your ideal roommate.

I am a 53 year-old man looking for a furnished private room to rent for the month of June, with the possibility of extending into July if things work out well. I am quiet, respectful, clean, financially stable, and will spend most of my time across town helping to care for my elderly father.

After 26 years in NYC, I moved to MD last year to take care of my elderly father following my mom’s passing. I was supposed to move into an apartment in December, but it fell through so I have been renting a room at a private house in Timonium for the past 6 months. The owner has just sold her other house and has decided to repurpose my current bedroom as floor to ceiling storage, so I am currently looking for a short-term rental for the next 1-2 months while restarting my search for a 1-year lease on an unfurnished 2-3 BR apartment.

I have 2 very well-behaved indoor-only adult cats. They are fully vaccinated, litter-trained, and extremely calm. They would remain in my private room at all times with 2 litterboxes, multiple cat towers and scratching posts – so there would be no damage to furniture, walls, or doors. I also have 2 extremely large king/queen size comforters which I will spread over any bedroom furniture where you do not want my cats to sit.

One of my cats recently had a medical emergency, so I am especially looking for a calm and stable temporary environment while he continues recovering.

I am specifically looking for:

• a private locking bedroom
• secure windows/doors so the cats cannot get out
• shared bathroom access
• shared kitchen access (including a small amount of refrigerator/freezer space)
• Wi-Fi
• laundry access if available

If the room does not come with a desk, I would also need a small amount of floor space for my own very small schoolhouse-style desk/chair, so I can work quietly on my laptop.

I am flexible and could potentially move in as early as next week if available, but no later than June 4. If I would like to to extend into July, I would let you know well in advance (by approximately June 20).
