My name is Sankirth, and I’m moving from NYC to the Seattle area for work. I’m looking for roommates / housing starting around June 15.

I recently graduated from NYU with my master’s in Computer Engineering, and I’ll be moving to the area for a software engineering role. My workplace is near Downtown Kirkland / West of Market, so I’m mainly looking around Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Bothell, Kenmore, and nearby Eastside / Seattle areas.

I’m open to either joining an existing apartment or finding people to sign a new place together. I’m looking for a 1-year lease.

Budget: ideally around $1,000–$1,500/month
Looking for: private room, ideally with an attached bathroom if possible

A bit about me: I’m in my late 20s, vegetarian, a non-smoker, and LGBTQ+ friendly. I’m mostly quiet during the week and usually working, learning something, or building software in my free time, but I do like being social too. I love board games and hosting game nights once in a while, though I’ll be new to the area so I’m hoping to meet people and build a nice friend group.

Outside of work, I like rock climbing, working out, running occasionally, cooking, baking, watching anime, painting, origami, and reading fiction / crime novels. Big Agatha Christie fan. I cook a lot of Indian, Mexican, and Asian food, and I don’t mind roommates eating meat.

For the home vibe, I’d love a clean, friendly place where roommates are open to hanging out sometimes, sharing the occasional dinner or game night, and still respecting everyone’s space. Ideally cozy and social, but not a party house.

I’m particular about keeping shared spaces clean and would prefer a weekly rotating cleaning schedule. Direct communication around house stuff is important to me.

I’m okay living with all genders. I have a decent credit score and can provide proof of income / documents as needed. Since I’ll be moving from NYC, I’ll likely need video tours before committing.
