I’m a boyish 60-year old male looking for either a larger room or two smaller rooms. Something in the 600-800 range. Anywhere in the greater Madison area, preferably Fitchburg, Oregon, South West Side, or South Madison proper.

About me:

I’m straight, white, divorced, non-smoking, and active.

I’m a former freelance editor/writer with degrees in Philosophy and English from UW-Madison but who’s burned out on knowledge work and computer screens. I currently work as a nursing assistant in hospice care and will be a full-time nursing student in the fall (you read that right).

I’m what I call an introverted eccentric. I’m generally quiet and keep to myself, but I also enjoy socializing within limits.

I’m one of the many who are “spiritual but not religious.” I’m closest to Buddhism in my general outlook, but in a secular way (never even been on a retreat). I’m not dogmatic or preachy and I don’t need to room with like-minded people.

I prefer shared living because I find living alone isolating and unhealthy. I’m cooperative, responsible, always clean up after myself, and respect other people’s boundaries and idiosyncrasies. I’m looking for likeminded housemates.

I cook but not everyday. Eat very little meat but am not strictly vegetarian.

I’m handy (enough) and am happy to help out around the house. Anything that keeps me moving.

I have sufficient savings, investments and references, with an excellent credit rating and no criminal record whatsoever.
