Micah

Hello !! My name is Micah (he/him). I’m a 22 year old queer guy looking for an apartment with ideally 2-3 other people, I’m not really picky about what area of Syracuse, but I’m used to being on the Eastside. I’m definitely a little all over the place and I have pretty dorky and niche interests (linguistics, language learning, kpop, video games, etc.). I dance and sing for fun, but if anyone lets me know I am happy to adjust volume so I don’t disturb anyone. I’m really clean and organized in common spaces - my room/spaces that are strictly my own are usually a different story since I am unmedicated for ADHD, but I NEVER let that bleed into common areas. I really like talking and being communicative about needs and ways to make living together feel more comfortable, and I’m looking for roommates with a similar mindset.

I am hopefully finishing college this Spring, and I currently am student teaching, but I plan on getting a part time job over the summer before I go back to substituting or full time teaching (depending on what I’m offered when college ends). I don’t drink or smoke because of my allergies, and I would prefer that my roommates didn’t either. I don’t really like going out much - I usually spend my free time listening to music, writing short stories, watching movies, and baking if I have the time and space. I also LOVE walking places outside and just exploring new areas (like small new restaurants, walking trails, parks, etc.)

I struggle really bad living by myself, but I’ve been stuck living with non queer-friendly people that won’t speak to one another and it’s kinda killing me. My current lease ends in July, but I am trying to get out of it earlier. I thrive on just being in the same space as people, regardless of whether or not we’re talking. I have severe allergies to smoking (weed specifically) and mild reactions to ingesting alcohol, so I’d prefer to be in a smoke free and drinking free environment. I would love to live with people who I can at least communicate with and hopefully connect/make friendships with. I love sharing things, listening to people, accommodating for one another, and making sure a living space is comfortable for everyone. I’m fine with a mixture of sharing things/responsibilities, like chores/tasks, cleaning, blankets, dishes, etc., and keeping some things private/separate when needed, like groceries, etc.

I don’t have any animals, but I have spent my whole live growing up around cats, and I’d be happy to help take care of a cat or live with a cat if needed :)
