It’s just me and my small ESA helper, Maggie. She is a 4 year old lab/terrier/ blueheeler mix with a huge heart and loves everybody. She weighs around 25 lbs and is very well trained. She doesnt bark unless strangers come onto the property. Can be won over with snacks. I shattered my knee 5 years ago and developed sepsis during covid. After loosing my husband of 45 years and 4 children moving to different states I found myself alone in a large house I could care for but couldn’t do simple things like change a light bulb. I have worked and been independent since I was 15 , facing many challenges and trials with faith and determination. That is still true but I have come to realize that being completely alone is too much. While I cherish my quiet time and my privacy, and Maggie is the best companion, she cant change a lightbulb either. Seriously, I miss the sound of others going about their day, knowing should I need something, someone is close by. I cook, clean and can care for myself. I use a wheelchair and a walker. I can drive and own my own van. I have no debt and pay my bills.I do smoke but outside only. While I enjoy the company of others, I am content to be on my own. I make friends easily and while I love a good debate I do not like arguments..
