Description
I am a single, mature father of 2 adult daughters. I study, practice, and teach Buddhist meditation and live a relatively quiet, contemplative lifestyle. I work full time from home or coffee shops on my laptop on EST hours for a financial company I have been with for 35 years. I also work part time in trauma centers.
Since leaving the New York area in 2017 I have lived in the mountains of Colorado, the deserts of Arizona, and the jungles of Costa Rica. The past few years I have been providing spiritual care as a trauma center chaplain in Oregon, Seattle, New York and Los Angeles.
I love books, movies, exercising, sunbathing, wandering about, meeting new people and learning about the life journeys and insights of others. Laughter is very important to me. Life can be challenging enough, and a warm sense of humor provides wonderful space for living it.
I feel very comfortable and at home both when I am all alone and when I am socializing. I enjoy conversation, and I love seeing live music, theater, and attending other interesting cultural events or just hanging out, but I also go to bed pretty early and I won’t be the one out at night in the bars with you!
I am often told that I have a very calming, engaging, nonjudgmental and welcoming presence, which I believe is a product of my meditative journey and chaplaincy experiences.
I believe I get along well with others, and I am kind, conscientious, dependable and considerate. At least that is what my Airbnb reviewers have written about me! You can read 12 years of reviews on me at Airbnb, and/or I can provide references from friends, family and former roommates/landlords.
My budget, move in date, and length of stay are flexible depending on the living situation I find.
Thanks for reading this!
