What I’m looking for: I am interested in a room for rent or for 1-2 roommates who would want to begin a new lease together. I have an older, very sweet cat who ideally would be the only pet in the household. (His social skills with other animals are subpar at best). I am open to 6-12 months with the option to sublet, and my budget is $800/month. Mold free, non smoking (outside okay), LGBTQ+ friendly. I have essentially no furniture, so furnished may be helpful for room rental but not necessary.

About me: I recently moved to AVL after finishing school in Boston, where I got my BFA in contemporary dance. I currently teach dance in the area and work a few admin and general support roles at a performance theatre.

I was raised in an Eastern European household, my parents immigrated to the states right before I was born. The culture of Bulgaria is quite important to me, and a big part of that culture is food. Sharing food and cooking/baking, connecting over meals, and valuing the source of ingredients is a big part of my lifestyle. I am very connected to the idea of living somewhere where I can cultivate / collaborate on a garden. I have a bit of experience, and am curious to learn more. A big passion of mine is being outdoors and connecting with nature, in various ways!!

Community time and connection is important to me, but I am also very introspective and value time of reflection and integration. Playing cards, games, dancing, watching movies, and hosting intimate gatherings are things I enjoy doing with others, and am looking for in those I share housing with. I regularly like to host a friend or family in my home. Comfortable silence is something I value as well, co-existing while reading or crafting is very enjoyable! I’ve lived in community at a work exchange, and can navigate compromise, communication, conflict, etc.

In terms of cleanliness, I can confidently say I am excellent at keeping common spaces extremely clean and tidy. I am hoping to live with people whose standards are similar. Clear communication about cleaning shared spaces is important for me, as well as predominately natural cleaning products.
