Description
I am a disabled artist with a severe cardiac condition and a cranial injury, and I urgently need a quiet, stable place to live where I can recover and rebuild my work.
I am currently in Williams, OR and need to return to the Redding area to retrieve my belongings from storage and reestablish a stable base. My current environment has not allowed me to recover—noise and frequent interaction trigger my condition, and over time this has significantly impacted my health and ability to function.
I am an established jewelry artist with over 8,700 Etsy sales, currently in the process of reopening my business while also attending college online. I am rebuilding from an existing foundation, not starting from zero. In addition to my jewelry work, I am developing a small herbal and food-based venture that may eventually include an alchemical tea bar and limited event vending.
What I am looking for is a very specific type of living arrangement. I need a detached or semi-detached space—such as a garage, studio, or private room with separation—where I can live and work independently. This is not a communal living situation. I require a quiet, low-interaction environment with minimal day-to-day engagement.
Because of my neurological and autonomic condition, my capacity must remain structured and contained. I am able to contribute through a clearly defined work-trade arrangement, but it has a firm limit. My total contribution is capped at approximately $700 per month in value, based on up to nine hours per week at $20/hour. This structure is not flexible or expandable beyond that.
The type of help I can offer includes cooking, light cleaning, organizing, and massage, depending on what is useful. I do not take on heavy labor or high-pressure roles. My work hours are limited to late afternoons (approximately 4–7 PM), three days per week, and I am not available Sunday through Tuesday.
If shared meals are desired, I can prepare large batches of food (such as curry), but this would be part of the same capped contribution—not in addition to it. Grocery costs would be shared, and total contribution would remain within the same fixed limit.
The environment itself is just as important as the structure. I recently exited a prolonged situation involving trafficking, exploitation, and instability, and I am actively healing from neurological, cardiac, and physical effects. My system does not tolerate constant interaction, emotional intensity, or unpredictable environments. I need calm, respectful independence and clear boundaries.
I am self-contained, quiet, and focused. I do not party, I do not drink alcohol, and I do not use hard drugs. I do use marijuana for pain management. I keep to myself and maintain a stable, predictable routine. I need enough space for art supplies and storage, and ideally would not share a wall due to noise sensitivity.
I am not looking to be rescued. I am building something sustainable and long-term, and I am looking for a situation that supports that direction. Clear agreements and mutual respect are important, and the structure described above is the framework that allows me to function.
If you have a detached or semi-private space and are looking for someone consistent, self-directed, and respectful of boundaries, feel free to reach out with details about the space, location, and what kind of arrangement you have in mind.
