Why I’m a Good Roommate
Hey there! I work remotely in key account management for a global market research firm, so I spend a good amount of time at home and really value having a calm, grounding environment to return to and recharge in. I live a sober, holistic lifestyle. I eat mostly plant-based, practice yoga and meditation, and love being outdoors. Hiking, bike rides, and nature walks are a regular part of my life. I’m looking for a place that feels like a true zen den — somewhere peaceful, tidy, and nourishing.
At home, I tend to be quiet and low-key. I’m a morning person who goes to bed early and rises with the sun. I appreciate a quiet atmosphere, especially between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. I can be outgoing, but home is where I like to wind down and reset. I prefer minimal visitors and like to keep the energy of the space calm and consistent.
I’m very tidy. I wash dishes right after I use them and like to keep shared spaces clean out of respect for everyone. I’m open to setting a regular time each week for things like vacuuming, scrubbing, or deep cleaning. I believe in shared responsibility for common areas and mutual effort to maintain a clean and comfortable home.
I value clear and respectful communication. If something needs to be addressed, I’ll speak up calmly and directly. I don’t take things personally and see conversations as a way to improve how we live together. I appreciate the same approach from others.
I live with my white German shepherd, Liban. He’s house-trained, outgoing, and friendly. He’s a gentle spirit who usually just naps or lounges quietly. He’s also low-shedding, and I brush him outside regularly to keep hair out of the house and maintain a clean space.
I’m also a music lover and collector. I have synthesizers, Technics turntables, vinyl, and speakers, so I’ll need space to set that up either in my room or a designated area. I’m always mindful of volume and hours of use and happy to work out a schedule that’s respectful of everyone’s routines.
What I’m Looking For
I’m looking for housemates who value mutual respect, clear communication, and a peaceful living environment. Ideally, you are someone who is clean, considerate, and appreciates a calm space where everyone feels at ease.
You don’t need to be sober or plant-based, but if you live intentionally and like a home that supports rest, balance, and wellness, I think we’d get along well. I’m friendly and open to connection, but I also need solo time to recharge and respect others’ need for space as well.
