Description
Looking for a decent room in an existing owner’s house or apartment, condo, townhouse, in-law apartment, etc. I’m a single man in my early 40s, looking to save some money on rent while I save to buy my own home, hopefully within the next few years. I’m quiet and keep to myself. I enjoy reading, watching movies, eating takeout, and going out to eat on occasion. I’m not a heavy drinker, I don’t smoke except for very occasional recreational marijuana use. I’m 420 friendly, but wouldn’t enjoy living in a house that is constantly smokey, so more light/occasional use would be preferred. I’m not into any other drugs, and would not want to be around anyone who is. I’m straight, but LGBTQ friendly. I’m white, but I’m open to any races or ethnicities. I only speak English however, so prefer to live with someone who speaks English pretty fluently, strictly for the purpose of being able to communicate clearly with one another. I am trying to learn to play guitar, so that is one thing that may be somewhat noisy, although I try to keep it very low-key (acoustic guitar only for now). I would find it interesting to live with someone who is into playing music themselves. I do enjoy watching TV and movies, which is really the only potential “loud” activity I do, but would obviously try to keep that to reasonable hours and be respectful of others’ sleep schedule. I generally work a lot of hours these days, so usually I am gone most of the day. I work Tuesday thru Friday, as well as most Saturdays. Sunday and Monday I have off. If I’m not catching up on sleep during those days, I usually go visit friends and family in New Hampshire. I would prefer to live with only one other person if possible, but I’m open to more depending on the situation. Obviously I would want to live with someone who is also low-key and respectful. Life causes enough stress so a no drama situation is a must. I’m open to hanging out on occasion if things work out that way, but like things to be open-ended without any pressure so there never feels like there is an obligation to do something. I would want to have my own private room, and any other space that might be appropriate. A private bathroom would be a very big plus for me, but not absolutely necessary. That being understood, the use of shared space such as the kitchen, living room, etc. would be fine. I would obviously like to have those boundaries laid out before moving in to avoid any unexpected unpleasantness. Also, I wouldn’t mind sharing the occasional meal, or splitting take-out from time to time, but otherwise I would want us to have our own food to avoid the awkwardness that can arise from sharing food and splitting grocery bills. I don’t have any children of my own, so no kids coming over to visit. If you do have kids, I wouldn’t mind if they came to visit or stay on occasion but it probably would not be very comfortable if you have kids that live with you, so I would want to avoid moving into a place where kids live full-time. Lastly, I’m very allergic to cats so if you have any, that would unfortunately be a dealbreaker. I like cats, but I just can’t be around them for very long without having symptoms. A well-mannered dog would be fine, but I would not enjoy living with any aggressive or overly loud dogs that bark constantly. I have no pets of my own. If all of that sounds reasonable, and you believe your situation would work out for the both of us, please feel free to drop me a message. My current lease ends at the end of July of 2026, so I’m actively looking in order to have something setup by then. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
