Sam

Hi! My name is Sam and I use they/them pronouns, though I’m usually masc presenting. I’m currently a grad student studying CS and a barista at Crows Coffee. I’m also a bit of a hermit, so I’m often spending time by myself. I enjoy having both a private space and being surrounded by people I’m comfortable around. I’m hoping to find roommates that understand my need for personal space but also enjoy just hanging out. I’ve had all sorts of roommates in the past, so it doesn’t matter to me whether you’re male, female, queer, or a gelatinous blob, as long as you’re ok with a queer person like me, then I think we could get along.

When I’m home I spend my time doing relatively quiet activities, studying, reading, games, though I’m also a musician with a lot of instruments (most of them are digital so I can use them with headphones to avoid annoying you). I like a clean environment, and am more than happy to do most of the cleaning in case you don’t want to. Space wise, I have a lot of plants, so be ready for that. I’ve had pets my whole life, and while I won’t be bringing any, I don’t mind living with them and would love to meet yours if you have any. Ive also got a decent collection of coffee equipment that I’m happy to share if you want to make at-home lattes. My girlfriend will occasionally be over, though I’m more often visiting her. I’m happy to talk about any concerns and making sure you don’t feel like you’re personal space is being invaded.

A few fair warnings about me, I’m super ADHD, so while I love a clean organized living space, sometimes what looks organized to me looks messy to others. So if I’m ever too disorganized just let me know, I really don’t mind being called out. I’m also a night owl and typically stay up past midnight. I’m often (1 or 2 nights a week) calling and talking to my out-of-state friends til about midnight, I do my best to keep my voice down and I will go out of my way to make sure I’m not bothering anyone. Lastly, I struggle to communicate sometimes, so if I need something from you I might text you while I’m first getting to know you, I find that helps me communicate when I’m feeling too anxious. I really hope I’m not scaring anyone away, generally I’m happy to talk to roommates whenever there’s a problem.
