I’m 30 years old. I’m a student. I moved to the US for study last year. In the past year, I was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a traumatic brain injury. I had skull and arm fractures that required surgery. I also suffered bilateral profound hearing loss from a fracture near my ear. While this has been very difficult, I had successful cochlear implant surgery this year that has restored my hearing. I’ve been in physical therapy because I lost my balance after the accident. I live with mi mom, who works at Wegmans Food Markets. She helps me with my recovery plan.
