Description

My current roommate has started moving all of their vital possessions and pets into their partner’s house with many months left on the lease, so I’m looking for a good situation so that maybe I can let them off the hook and we can buy out the current lease. I’ve posted 6/1/24 as a move out date, but the latest I should be able to move out is 10/20/24. I can crash on a friend’s couch past that date for a month or so if necessary – I just can’t bring my cat with me into that situation, so it’s to be avoided.

About me, I’m an ace/aro cis Buddhist guy with a rescue cat, ADHD, and PTSD (not the fun wartime “scared of fireworks” kind, but the “falling into primal dread when people slam doors around the house” kind). I used to do IT, but between the Colorado Springs IT job market (all Federal and MSPs) and the post-COVID job market (competing internationally for remote roles amidst systemic layoffs), I’ve had to fall back on doing gig work to pay the bills. Getting closer to or into Denver could be a good life move for me in terms of career opportunity. Between me and my cat, we tend to hole up in my room a lot of the time. I don’t hoard dishes (I wash them as soon as I’m done with them) and I don’t create messes. I’m usually just playing computer games and watching video essays. I am a medical cannabis patient and I can comply with a smokeless policy if needed. I’d also really prefer not to live in a house with habitual alcohol abuse; I only drink socially or just a handful of times a year, and usually only one or two drinks.

If you share any passion for retro video games or tabletop roleplaying games (DnD), we could be a good culture fit!

The $700 would have to include utilities and fees. I have to keep my income low to get on Health First for the short term, but if I can find a decent IT job, I’ll be interested in making sure everything is equitable.

P.S. I hate that I have to say this, but please don’t message me just to criticize aspects of my post (or my life) that you may not have respect for. I know that some honesty can make it a hard sell for some folks, but at least there are no surprises; I paid $40 so that you can see that I’m not a criminal and that I pay my debts.
