Hey all, I’m moving to Seattle from overseas to start a new job in oceanography in January.

A bit about me: I’m from New Zealand, but I’ve spent the past year living and sailing on a tiny yacht around the Pacific. Prior to that I was busy finishing a PhD in maths. Hobbies include sailing, cycling, trail running, skiing and hiking. Pretty much anything that keeps me fit and gets me outside has the seal of approval. On a lazy or rainy day I love coffee and enjoy watching kdrama.

Preferences: My monthly budget is 800 - 1200, but the less the better (slightly more could be fine if it was a great fit or inlcuded utilities). I’m looking to move in at the end of December/beginning of January. My ideal location is near UW in any of U-district, Ravenna, Roosevelt, Wallingford, Green Lake. NE of the University away from the light rail and more towards Sand Point would also be fine. I don’t plan to buy a car so don’t need a parking spot. Close to public transit/cycle trails would be great.
