Description

Hi there!

My name’s Vale (though it’s not the name on any paperwork/my deadname) and I’m a legally blind, neurodivergent, queer, AFAB non-binary, short fiction author.

I’m hoping to move from Florida (a place that I do not feel safe living in) up to Seattle sometime soon.

While I don’t have a job set up yet, I do have a monthly income from social security and will occasionally do chores or cooking to supplement it, if the need arises. I’ll also be reaching out to the local Blind Services to see if they can help me find work once I’m there too.

Regarding my sight, I’ve been low vision for my entire life and know how to adapt to surrounds and create my own accessability. I may ask a question here and there while first getting oriented, but I learn fast. If it matters at all, I do use a white cane in public at times, but almost never in the place I’m living.

I’m a big fan of words, so reading and writing are two things I’m very into (I mostly engage with speculative fiction of any sort, but will try pretty much anything) and love book recommendations.), as well as trying to learn other crafty things, and I’ve always wanted to learn board or card games but never really had the chance.

I can be extremely introverted, at times, but do my best to match the social bandwidth of the people around me. While I don’t need to interact with a roommate all the time, reaching out here and there would be something I’d like to do, or even sit and have a dinner or something once a week.

I have a cat, but depending on my living situation, I do have a place in the area where she can stay.

I’m more than happy to answer any questions, and value communication. Knowing my roommates preferred communication styles for tough conversations and casual ones is something I always try to remember and work with.

So, I think I’ve rambled on enough, hopefully this will be interesting and I can enjoy sharing space with whoever winds up reading this.
