My name is Gatlen Culp (gatlen.blog, 23 y/o male-identifying), graduated from MIT in May, and working an AI policy job Berkeley!

Looking For: A fun community (2+ housemates ~19-33 y/o) that’s up for late night chats, movies, dinners, and shenanigans informally at a weekly frequency.

About me: I just graduated from MIT with a bachelors in AI and Decision Making. I worked with MIT AI Alignment for many years. I work in AI safety and policy and recently accepted a full-time offer working with the Civic AI Security Program (CivAI) in downtown Berkeley. I love philosophy, board/video games, movies, political economics, blogging, walkable cities, geese, hiking, spreadsheets, making memes, budget travel, and eating with friends. Trying to get into guitar and rock climbing despite the Bay Area stereotypes. At my current place in Boston, I host weekly movie nights and make brownies — would likely bring this tradition wherever I go :) LGBTQ+ friendly.

• Has parking if 25+ min from downtown Berkeley or a BART station
• Building and housemates accept dogs (don’t have one, considering a Corgi)

• I’m a very cleanly person, and always clean up after myself or let the house know when I plan on getting around to it. I expect my housemates to be similarly respectful.
• At MIT, I lived at pika for two years — a 26 person cooperative living community at MIT, served as house manager for a semester, and a big/little cook throughout my time. I’m very familiar with cooperative living logistics and conflict management.
