Hello! I’m a young professional looking for a single room to rent/looking for housemates to start a lease July or August hopefully in Northwest/Southwest Berkeley, but also seriously considering El Cerrito/Albany as long as they’re walking/biking distance to a BART station 🙂 Background: I’m 24, a UC Davis alum, and just finished my grad program at CMU, I’m starting a new job in August which is remote-centered, so I will be mostly working from home. I’ll be commuting to Sacramento occasionally so being close to the Amtrak station and/or a BART station is a perk. Personality/Hobbies: I’m quite outgoing/extroverted, but I don’t typically party/drink/do drugs (though I don’t mind others drinking/taking edibles, as long as there’s no smoking inside the living space). I like meeting new people and chatting with others, but I respect peoples’ space and boundaries, completely understand if roommates need some alone/quiet time. I typically sleep at reasonable hours (11PM or midnight) and wake up reasonable hours to begin work (7/8 AM). As I would need to commute to Sacramento occasionally, I may wake up a bit earlier than that/get back home later, but I try to keep quiet to avoid disturbing roommates. I love hiking and biking, and also enjoy baking goods (if you live with me you will probably be fed). I’m pretty big on sustainability and would enjoy living with others who are as well. I’m trying to live with less clutter so I’d prefer to have less stuff/furniture lying around the living space. I have a mostly plant-based diet but don’t mind living with others who do not. Preferences: Looking for grad students or other young professionals to share an apartment with, either if you’re looking for someone to fill a spot or if you’d like to find a lease together. Prefer living in Northwest or Southwest Berkeley, as long as it’s relatively close to the Amtrak station. But, El Cerrito and Albany locations are certainly on my radar as long as they are walking/biking distance to BART. I have been eyeing a couple of listings, happy to share my findings. Would like to find 1 to 2 other housemates, but prefer to have a single. I don’t mind sharing bathrooms. Budget is <$1250/month. Looking for a place starting July or August. Prefer female-identifying roommates but not a super important factor for me. LGBTQIA+ friendly. I like to keep clean and like structured schedules, so I’d prefer roommates who are also clean and who would not mind sharing chores on a rotating schedule/other system that works. I also don’t mind pets (dogs, cats).
