Seeking intentional communal living in West Town

When: looking to move between Dec 1 and Feb 1, prefer 6-12 mo lease with option to extend

Where: West Town or nearby (Humboldt Park, Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village, etc)

Budget: up to $1100 including utilities, slightly flexible for right fit

You/other potential roommates (up to 3 people, for a total of up to 4 people in the home including me): aged ~25-50 (including any part-time residents–no kids), any gender any sexuality, reliable with paying rent, find value in communal living and don’t simply see it as an undesirable inconvenience. Reliably clean up after yourself and treat the home and roommates with respect. Must be accepting of alternative lifestyles. Bonus if you have cats.

Me: Mid 30s F working from home and on Zoom a lot. Extremely reliable W-2 income and great credit. I’m in Chicago ~50% (roughly one month on, one month off) but intend to pay the same rent and utilities even when I’m not here. Polyamorous and queer and will have overnight guests a few nights a month but they all have their own homes. I am a nerd who works in tech/academia. I love games (board, card, video) and trivia. I play Pokémon Go. I am a leftist and punky/alt-y. I’m outgoing and social, but value my quiet, alone time, and privacy in my own room/space. I intentionally choose communal living because I like living with other people, hanging out with roommates, and generally not being isolated (I get the winter blues big time if I’m alone too much). I tend to conform my cleanliness to those I live with and have a high tolerance/am generally easygoing, but I do best living with people who don’t fall to either extreme (i.e. extremely neat or extremely messy).

LGBTIA+ friendly, trans friendly, 420 friendly (but prefer minimal smoke inside)

The space: I don’t have one now but am willing to find a place together or move in to an existing household. I require a private room and a separate space I can have a small desk (common area, etc). Would like the place to have laundry in unit, a dishwasher, a tub (I love baths), and at least 2 bathrooms. Ideally some amount of outdoor space.
