Description

My name is Helen. I’m interested in an apartment-share situation.

About me: I’m usually considered a very good roommate – I’m quiet, respectful, considerate of other people, other people’s things, other people’s space, other people’s privacy. I am in my 50s and live a very quiet and subdued life. I have few (if any) visitors – no parties, no overnight visitors, no one who will need “to crash on the sofa for just a while.” Mostly, I spend my free time reading, writing, watching videos, calling friends and family (they’re all out-of-state now), doing crafts, taking walks, and maybe a little gardening, if there’s an opportunity for that. And cooking – I cook delicious meals that I love to share.

I’m very, very conscientious about cleanliness in the common areas, especially the kitchen and bathrooms, and always clean up after myself. I’m hoping to find someone with similar habits in that regard. However, I’ll admit that my own room can get rather, um… cluttered (with clothes and papers and stuff – nothing stinky or disgusting, I promise). I try to stay on top of it but, sadly, I’m only human.

I’ve been in my current apartment in Boston for 12+ years, so my landlady knows me well and will give me a good reference. Sadly for me, her family is planning to completely renovate the building (and then raise the rent astronomically), so I’ve got to find a new apartment.

Until the pandemic, I had many, many roommates and we always got along well, especially if everyone involved is open and fair and willing to ask/answer enough questions beforehand to make sure it’s a good fit before moving in together.
