Description

I am a 42 yr. old woman with a big, goofy, and very loving muppet of a Golden Doodle (1.5 yr old) looking for a place to call home. My sweet pup gets along with ALL people and dogs. He’s not an alpha and his care is a top priority for me. A tired dog is a good dog in my book and I make sure to get him plenty of exercise.

I have been described as tidy, joyful, communicative, and respectful as a roommate. I have great references to share.

Before COVID, I was a very passionate and active teacher of social justice, self-awareness, and sustainability studies through 4 different nonprofits to students ages 8 through 60+ years old. Currently, I spend a couple of days doing childcare, but most of my days taking care of myself since I have been suffering from a serious case of Long COVID for the last 2.5 years. My financial situation is unique, but stable.

When I feel good enough, I love seeing live music, finding good food, meeting up with friends, having adventures, pinball, potlucks, attending workshops, and I play a little mandolin and ukelele.

The ideal range is $650-$950 in North or NE, but I’m open to an amazing situation elsewhere. I am not interested in living with a landlord.

I am looking for a well-lit decent-sized room, studio, trailer, or ADU. 1 or 2 roommates would be great, depending on how big the house is (bathrooms, etc.) and schedules. Early quiet hours are important to me on weekdays, but I am happy to negotiate on weekends–it’s all about communication. I would love a sense of community at home–though, I also don’t need to be best friends with my roommates. Windows, cleanliness, fun, and beauty are all very important to me. Direct, open communication is absolutely essential! I am trained in NVC and I am committed to conflict resolution process. I’m a queer, disabled femme. I also strive to be aware of and sensitive to issues facing POC (esp in this town) and consider myself on the lifelong journey of unlearning racism.

Ideal housemates will: -be direct, open communicators with agreed-upon processes for conflict resolution…(this is so important to me!) -love and understand dogs (mine is definitely a great dog, but he’s still a young dog who does a couple of annoying dog things) -be allies for disabled folx or open to learning more! -be very clean and into weekly chores! -hold quiet hours (I’m a light sleeper) -be interested in sharing meals and other fun activities on occasion -not be addicts or alcoholics
