Hello. I am a young-at-heart, experienced Montessori teacher (Grades 1-3) who is in the process of shifting her life to be in close proximity to her parents (85 & 92) who would benefit from additional support to continue living independently in their home. I am looking for someone who lives in the South Austin to Dripping Springs area in a light, bright home, who would like to bring in an extra $750-$900/month for the next 6-12 months (or longer if it feels like a fit) beginning in early October of ‘23. I currently work part-time in south Austin as a Math Tutor Specialist at a school where I had been a head teacher for 5 years. I’m planning to work part-time from home 2 days/week tutoring virtually and teaching an online chair-based, neuroplasticity brain health class called “Ageless Grace”.

In my teaching I have a passion for integrating theater, art, dance and music into the academics (and working with other teachers to do the same) and for designing beautiful, welcoming classroom environments. I enjoy hiking, dancing, qi gong, pilates, meditation, travel, audible books, drinking good coffee, connecting with friends and I am a life-long teacher/learner.

I’m pretty upbeat and kind and I want to create that I am part of a home that has a warm, bright, caring energy-one that feels safe and connected with conscious, kind housemates who respect each other’s privacy and also enjoy connecting. I genuinely love living with other people. Integrity, acceptance, clarity in communication, self-responsibility and compassion are some of the qualities I value in myself and others.

My preference is a furnished room with a monthly rent (including utilities) of$750- $900. Because I am opting to work less so that I can spend as much time as possible with my parents who live near the high school in Dripping, I am hoping to keep my expenses fairly low. I prefer a smoke-free, drug-free, uncluttered home where care has been put into the creation of the space. I’d love a room with its own bathroom if possible. I love to be near nature, somewhere I would feel safe walking in the early morning or early evening hours. I don’t have pets but adore animals and would treat all pets as if they were my own.

I have great references and strong ties to the community having worked and lived in Austin for 7 years. My entire family-parents and 4 siblings live in this area. I can provide many personal references from friends/families from this area.
