Mindy and Kris

I’m a reference for and helping Kris and Mindy to obtain temporary housing. (Picture is of Doug and Rae). Kris and Mindy are previously homeless and staying in a hotel for a week leaving Fri. with no housing yet. Kris is on disability due to double amputation below the knee. Mindy nursed Kris back to health and then she was hospitalized with a heart condition, so Kris nursed her back to health. They are married, from a small town near Lake Placid, NY and are so sweetly committed to each other. Kris is in a wheel chair until his prosthetic legs are ready next Thu. My experience is most homeless have mental and/or drug problems. I assure you Kris and Mindy are not on drugs, they are articulate, ambitious and genuine in their manner of communications. Nonetheless, due to medical conditions and expenses they find themselves living on $800/month until Kris receives his prosthetics next week allowing Mindy to return to work. $200 room rent would allow them to purchase food, daily necessities and transportation to find work. Mindy can go back to work immediately knowing Kris has a safe place to live, then obtaining his prosthetics and returning to work. They need temp housing for a month or less and can pay $200 to start regardless if they stay less than a month. We are Doug and Rae Tally, retired both former Police Officers while attending college, then 30 year careers in Info Tech sales in Chicago. We are retired and just purchased a home at Latitude Margaritaville on LPGA west of I-95 which we are in the process of furnishing and hosting family coming and going to see our new place. We attend The Basilica of St. Paul and the parish will offer a reference knowing us, I’m a Knight of Columbus at the parish and 10 years prior. We have a home in MI, now our 2nd home as FL is our primary residence.
