Gerne van Zyl

Good day my name is Gerné van Zyl, I am a BSc Viticulture & Oenology (Honours) graduate at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. I received the great opportunity to be able to do an harvest in Napa Valley starting from 11 July - 20 December 2022. Currently I am looking to find accomodation that is situated close to the farm, where I will be spending most of my time during the havest season. I am a female that is 22 years old and my goal for this season’s harvest is to gain more knowledge about the wine industry since I will be stimulated by a whole different environment that I’m currently used to (Stellenbosch, South Africa). I would describe myself as a people’s person with a positive attitude that is disciplined, flexible, pays attention to detail and an absolute go-getter. In my free time I would like to explore, meet new people, visit the beach and learn more about Napa Valley’s winemaking culture.
