Description

As a traveling sales rep in the medical field I am only at “home” two weeks a month, sometimes less. I love my job and adore to travel. I partner with some amazing clinicians & healthcare professions through the heartland; but I also get to rub elbows with the fashion world. Prescription eyeglasses are truly fashionable & medically functional, yet many small independent clinics struggle with maximizing their potential. I’m a proud business owner & my main contract has me covering Montana to Memphis. Kansas City is my hometown, but I’ve also lived in Minneapolis & Chicago. STL/OKC/Tulsa are really on the up & up, and I look forward to living & working throughout the metro to build my clientele. I specialize in luxury sales training, neurodivergent & queer inclusivity sensitivity training, animal assisted therapy & crisis intervention, and B2B marketing.

I travel with a service animal who is certified & licensed not only as a medical alert service animal but a therapy dog partner. She’s a gold dust yorkie who just turned 4 years old. She’s crate trained & rarely leaves my side as she’s compact at 5 lbs. She’s not a typical terrier in that she is extremely calm, quiet & collected. Her name is Miss Stevie & she’s visited over 300 optical clinic and assisted in almost 800 eye exams. Part of her training is assimilating anyone who has sensory issues, anxiety or is neurodivergent. The bulk of Stevie’s clinical work has been assisting Vision therapy to spectrum adolescents & adults with traumatic brain injury.

My consultancy job uses the majority of my extrovert skills during work; so when I finally pull in the driveway & enter an abode that I’ve made my own—It’s full on Zen! I’m especially laid back, compassionate & tolerant when at home. I savor my privacy & keep pretty quiet during my alone time. I spend a lot of that time reading, blogging, doing virtual side gigs & meditation. I am differently abled in that I have a medical cannabis card & prefer to medicate with edibles. Miss Stevie also performs medical service tasks for me. I am asthmatic so I specifically work with a non allergy canine. When at home & unwinding from work Miss Stevie prefers food puzzles, grooming routines & lounging nearby her people. I have a temporary pet gate to sequester her to our room, and she’s also crate trained. Whenever she is at home with me she’s either crated, in a satchel or on the bedspread sleeping. She goes unnoticed in the majority of hotels we visit for work.

You’ll adore having Miss Stevie & Mr Nick Ray as roomies. I get to tell new friends that I am “Stevie’s Nick”! Ha! As a roommate I am especially tidy, quiet & half+ of the time traveling elsewhere. You’ll love it! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I appreciate your time! All my best, Nick Ray
