Description

Hello, Andrew here. Nice to meet you! I’ve been in NY about six months and am looking to transfer out of my temporary room into a more permanent, homey environment. I’m a lifelong musician, cook, poet, barista, gardener, teacher, technician, fitness instructor and audio engineer. My home life is well dialed in by now and reliable- I enjoy a clean, tastefully arranged space with plenty of books, art, music and plants. I can sum up my daily routine to give you and idea of what life would be like with me around–I’m up at 6:30, quietly make myself breakfast and coffee, sweep the floor and enjoy a moment of peace before beginning the day. If I’m at a studio, my hours are irregular. Though if I’m traveling out to work a project I’ll find something to do after like a bookstore, show, or a nice easy walk. I also work a cafe, those are eight hour shifts, pretty much the whole day. I write for my band and am currently at work on an album. My home music is limited to acoustic guitar and singing for about an hour a day. In the evening I’ll go for a run a few nights a week. I cook nearly all of my meals. The kitchen is a holy place for me. I’ll have a bottle of wine per week. I was a chef in Chicago for eleven years and take great care to keep my kitchens well-stocked with organic, local foods. All the working surfaces are beautiful and thoughtfully arranged–no fallen pile of stockpots and skillets in the low cabinets. I don’t just wipe down the fridge, I take it apart every few months and soap the pieces. Just, to give you an idea.

My ideal roommate should have similar home values, respect common spaces and possibly have a cat. I hope to get one myself when I settle in somewhere. I don’t expect everyone to have my level of attention for cleanliness but they should contribute to keep the place homey and full of good energy! No drano.

See you soon!

Andrew
