Hello, my name is Cody. I’m 44 years old, single, full-time employed, and I’m looking for a rental in the Bay Area. Preferably San Francisco, but I’m open to East Bay if it’s a sweet spot and the price in right.

I don’t have pets, but I am ok with living in a place with animals as long as they don’t have access to my room. I have a grown son who lives on his own and I get along great with other people’s kids, so a house with kids or pets would be fine with me.

I’m an omnivore and I need to live in a place where the cooking of meat is allowed. I tend to make at least one of the following every weekend: carnitas, chili verde, chili with meat and beans, refried beans, bone broth. I’m always happy to share if communal cooking is a thing.

I’m cannabis friendly but I prefer to be in a place where indoor smoking is not allowed, and where people won’t be smoking right next to open doors and windows. I feel the same way about vaping and tobacco smoke.

I’m willing to pay more than what I listed for a decent-sized bedroom that has a large closet and a private bathroom, and quite a bit more for a private studio or one bedroom apartment.

In my free time I enjoy a regular yoga practice (I also teach yoga at the rancheria). I also enjoy going on walks, hikes, gardening, and cooking.

I would be happy to do a partial work exchange for folks needing child care, pet care, cleaning, or gardening, but I would have to cap it at about 10 hours of extra work a week max.

I keep a clean space and prefer a place where clean as you go is the expectation. Socializing and company is cool, but I do not want to live in a party house and my expectation is that housemates will have guests as they deem appropriate, but if there is going to be a large gathering or late activities with noise, we have a conversation first.
