Description
Hello, My name is Zack Vegso, I am a 26-year-old incoming Ph.D. student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology who is moving to the Knoxville area in August. I earned my B.S. in Biology from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and I am finishing my M.S. in Biological Sciences from Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, CA. My primary interests are in wildlife ecology, specifically herpetology, and Iβve chosen to dedicate my life to the research and conservation of salamanders. I love hiking and spending time in nature, so close proximity to hiking trails (or a cool backyard) is much preferred, but not required. I have a car, so I am okay with a longer commute to campus if necessary. I donβt drink, smoke, or have any pets but I am okay with being around them (but please smoke outside). I am a very quiet person. Iβm generally pretty neat and I always clean up after myself. I am vegetarian, but itβs okay if you are not. I would prefer to room with other students, particularly graduate students if possible. Iβm okay with either male or female roommates, and if itβs relevant to know, I am ace. Beyond herpetology, my interests include history, astronomy, listening to music (primarily Darkwave, European Folk, and Metal), and the works of JRR Tolkien.
