I’m Michael. I’m originally from Yucaipa but I have been around LA and the I.E. for the past three years. My friends would describe me as easy-going, sarcastic, analytical, and independent. In my free time, I like to spend my time outside or inside with my pets or others. On the weekends, I sometimes barbeque or repair a range of things from my truck to electronics.

I have served 8 years in the military, 5 years in the Marine Corps as an Avionics Technician then 3 years in the Army as a Radio and Computer Support Technician.

I’m an IT Technician by trade and I work a pretty normal 8-5 shift. During the week, I’m usually in bed by 10:30 and up by 7. On the weekends, I’m usually asleep by 12 and up around 8 or 9. I have studied Software Engineering at California Baptist University but I have not been able to complete my degree.

I’m a fairly social person, but I also need my alone time. I want my house to be a place where I can have people over, but not one that’s constantly full of people. I’m open to the idea of my roommates hosting small parties - I would just like to know about these ahead of time. I’m down to get to know each other; I’m not saying we have to be best friends, but I would like to do things like occasionally watch TV together and host cookouts for friends.

I keep the common living spaces generally clean. I do my dishes every day and put away my belongings when I am finished with my work or on my breaks. I’m open to the idea of a cleaning schedule to keep things organized.

My monthly budget is $1000 and I’m looking to move in sometime in October. I’m hoping to find a house at most 1.5 to 2 hours drive from Pasadena, where my work would be after the pandemic is officially over. I would like my own bedroom and I’m open to living with 1-3 other people. Ideally, the house would have a back yard and would allow pets such as a cat and a larger dog who is friendly. But they both have a safe place to stay if either is not welcome. If the bedrooms are sized differently enough to justify different prices, I’m happy staying in the larger or smaller room.

Given that this is Southern California and summers do get hot, I would ask that roommates be reasonable with both the temperature of the house that is safe enough for everyone but is also budget friendly which could help with use of fluid dynamics.

Here are some quirks and relevant information: I’m sometimes overwhelmed by loud noises and can’t stand cupboard doors being left open. So, if you’re someone that needs to have the volume on the TV up to the maximum, we might not be the best fit. With that said, I’m not going to get upset at you for making popcorn at night or watching your favorite TV show at a normal volume. I’m not a smoker and I don’t want to live with smokers but I wouldn’t mind living in a house where people smoke outside only.

I’m a Christian and would like to be respected as one. I will respect everyone else in the house and their own faiths and beliefs about individuality and identity. Again it will be a mutual respect and an educated respect, meaning that I am as willing to learn from and about other faiths and beliefs as I am about spreading the Gospel and talking about Christianity. The respect also applies that if no talk about religion is wanted, then that must be mutual as well, even if there is no religion at all.
