About the room
I’m renting out one bedroom in my spacious 4 bedroom, three bathroom garden apartment near Mills. There’s a large shared living space LR/DR and kitchen dining area. The living room, dining room and kitchen dining area are furnished, but your bedroom is all yours to decorate and furnish as you like.
This listing is for the second bedroom (11.75’ x 15.5’) which shares a large jack and jill bathroom (double sinks and a large storage area) with the other middle bedroom.
It’s located on a quiet little block with lots of families. Lots of light and birds chirping makes the place feel very serene and homey.
Bills are split four ways across myself and other tenants: gas, electric and internet ($10/month per roommate). We don’t have TV/cable service other than the high speed internet presently. A SOLAR roof is being installed which will offset the majority of the electrical costs for the entire building and give us a large solar credit against the electric bill.
There are RING security cameras and motion triggered lighting systems installed on the front and back porches. There is a locked mailbox (shared by everyone in our apartment) as well as a package dropbox on the front porch - the dropbox is shared by the all three apartments in the building.
The household is mellow, all professional adults. I am an internet professional working in e-commerce, a musician and writer and all around nice guy. I like to cook and play tennis and I have three small dogs. They are friendly with cats and other dogs for the most part, so if you have a pet, please feel free to inquire. Another roommate has one friendly cat. This same roommate works with children while our other roommate works in a Biology lab. Everyone is friendly and respectful. Please be the same.
The building is an owner-occupied triplex. Full disclosure - the landlord/owner is my amazing girlfriend who lives upstairs. She has planted citrus and stone fruit trees in the front yard (pluots and peaches), collards, artichokes and flowering plants including roses and honeysuckles in the front yard. The back yard features avocado, guava and rose apple trees as well as edible greens.
The other apartment upstairs is becoming available so I am renting out my downstairs rooms and moving upstairs with my three small dogs - who are sweet and friendly. They spend time in the backyard and will continue to do so. They are friendly with cats and other dogs for the most part, so if you have a pet, please feel free to inquire.
Pets are allowed with an additional pet deposit of $500.
