About the room

Short-term room rental for one person on 5th Street between Magnolia and Chestnut in Downtown Long Beach. One bedroom with separate bathroom available in a two bed, two bath apartment. Room is currently furnished but available unfinished upon request. Shared use of kitchen, living room, balcony, hallway walk-in closet, and stacked washer/dryer in unit. Available now through the end of October 2026, when the lease ends. Not a sublet; the roommate will be added to the lease in accordance with the on-site property owner’s terms, and will responsible for their share of rent ($1275/month) in addition to half of the utilities (electricity, gas, water, sewage, & waste disposal, and established internet/tv service). Apartment is on the first floor of a small, 15-unit building (three residential floors above a secure, ground floor parking garage), with central heating/air conditioning and off-street parking available for one vehicle. Elevator/stairs access. Bus stop on the corner, Metro A line station two blocks away.

About the roomies

I’m assisting my brother (the roommate and current lease-holder) by listing this room. Our father passed away several months ago (not in the apartment) and we are looking to get a short-term roommate in his former bedroom until the lease expires. My brother is in his mid-40s, hard of hearing, and speaks both English & American Sign Language. Family who lives in the same small apartment building & visits my brother daily, will also be a point of contact for the potential roommate.
