TERMS:

• Rent INCLUDES WiFi (save $40 monthly) and Water (save $60 quarterly),
• Rent DOES NOT INCLUDE electricity & gas (+/- $100 monthly)
• 3 to 6 month lease to start, which may be extended month to month or for another 6 months if we’re both happy.
• 1 month security deposit
• 1 month rent in advance MAY BE required depending on stability of income and/or history of renting.
• 60 days notice to terminate sublease.

ABOUT THE ROOM/PROPERTY: Located on the 2nd floor of a historic Brownstone built in 1888 (with hand-painted murals from 1943), in the much-desired Paulus Hook neighborhood of Downtown Jersey City is an airy and cozy room waiting for you in a peaceful shared apartment.

The room for rent is furnished with a full size bed, tempur pedic mattress, dresser, chair/side table and includes a mounted Smart TV with a Fire Stick. An armoire is available for hanging clothes in a separate room.

This room is move-in ready and waiting for your personal touch. [It’s actually my favorite room in the apartment because it’s set off from the other two bedrooms].

When you step out of this lovely room, you’ll step into a large living room with workspace, 15 foot ceilings, lots of light and french doors. AND you can close those french doors when more space and privacy is desired.

When you do this, your “cozy room” now becomes HUGE! There is a big glass desk/workstation and a new 55“ Fire TV in the living room and a long Crate & Barrel couch to stretch out on. You can move the coffee table to work out, or do yoga, or meditate or just lie down on the large red flower carpet and stare at the ceiling. ;)

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION is one of the most valuable aspects of this neighborhood. I’ve lived in NYC and Brooklyn and I am so happy I moved to my neighborhood in Jersey City. It’s easier and faster to get in and out of NYC from Jersey City… I promise!

You are 10 mins away from 2 PATH train stations (Exchange Place and Grove Street PATH), as well as 5 or more ferries that cross the Hudson (my fave is the 8 minute Ferry Ride to Westfield and WTC/Oculus), and you have the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail which takes you from Bayonne to Weehawken.

You can own a car here and park it on the street if you’re inclined.

ABOUT ME & MY DAUGHTER: I’m a rather hip & hippie-ish, startup & marketing professional from Texas, but I’ve been in NYC, Brooklyn, the North Fork and now Jersey City for 25 years combined. I’ve been a singer-songwriter, worked for Martha Stewart & Spike Lee, launched a fashion tech startup and now have my own boutique strategy & modern marketing agency.

As of Sept 2019, I’m an empty-nester… which sounds so damn old… but I’m really not… and I’m looking to have more time & money to pursue other things that are important to me, so why not start by sharing the apartment with another female making her way?!

I have a super cool daughter who is an art major in her freshman year of college. She lives on campus, but she still has her own room in the back of the apartment next to mine. Our bedroom are on the other end of the apartment away from the room to rent. She sometimes comes to stay on a weekend and is in/out during holidays.

My daughter loves art and I love to travel and to learn & do new things often.
