Room for rent. Must love animals. There are two large, but very friendly dogs. There are also 2 cats, one older who keeps to himself, one who is a year old who is an indoor/outdoor cat, but he does like visiting the roommates upstairs. You must be comfortable around dogs. Sassaquin area of New Bedford (close to Freetown and Acushnet). Minutes from Rte. 140 Room is on 2nd floor, approx. 10’ x 12’ Heat, electric and internet included. Please DO NOT inquire about the room if you: smoke, do drugs, drink alcohol (occasional drink is fine, done dealing with people with drinking problems. This room is for one individual (no couples, no children, no pets). There is a ‘middle room’ that is shared with another bedroom upstairs, which includes half bath, full size refrigerator/freezer, cabinet for food and small countertop. Main bathroom on 1st floor. Shared kitchen, dining room, porch, deck, No laundry on site. You can pay either monthly or weekly. There is a $500 refundable security deposit (last roommate left a big mess to clean up). Security deposit can be paid over a few months.

The house is owned by my husband and I (Chris and Melissa). We both work full-time. We are quiet, friendly individuals, usually in bed by 9. We don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs. Our bedroom is downstairs. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, which are both rentals. In the summer, I am usually outside when I’m not at work. We are offering the room, as we have been slowly fixing up this old house and things aren’t cheap these days, and we had some extra rooms upstairs just sitting empty. We’ve been renting out the rooms for over 5 years and have had very few problems (most problems revolve around the renter having an alcohol problem and not realizing it.
